The Eat a Peach tribute guitar features my marquetry rendition of Wonder Graphic’s spectacular artwork from the inside cover of the Allman Brother’s epic Eat a Peach album. Hand-cut pieces of wood veneer from many types of trees were pieced together to create the picture, which was then further detailed with a woodburning pen.
I have made the guitar as well. The body and neck are of Honduras mahogany and the fretboard is Macassar ebony with nickel silver frets and a 12” radius. The humbucking pickups are Sheptone’s Blue Sky model. Grover tuners, Gotoh bridge and tailpiece, CTS and Switchcraft components. Polyurethane finish. The guitar looks, sounds, and plays great.
The Eat a Peach Tribute Guitar celebrates not only the Allman Brothers Band and their epic album, but also the days of record albums and the great artwork that captivated us while we listened. Find out more about how this unique, handcrafted guitar came into being, and why it’s headed for The Big House Museum. Join the ride!
